Q: How are 2001 Infiniti i30 Touring?
Any similar problems people face? What are the pros and cons?

A: I am an owner of a 2000 Infiniti I30, which is mostly similar to the 2001, except that mine does not have the Touring package. The only thing the Touring package adds is Xenon headlights, traction control, 17" inch rims, steering wheel audio controls, a spoiler and heated seats (in some cases). Either way these are the pros and cons, in detail, from my perspective: Pros: Excellent engine with smooth progressive power. Very comfortable seats, especially on long trips. Top notch fit and finish inside. Power rear curtain. Exceptional 7 speaker Bose sound system. Surprisingly good handling. Noticeable stability at freeway speeds compared to other cars (like my mom's 2004 Acura MDX Touring w/GPS). EXCELLENT reliability (mine has 118K miles on it and I've had no major issues with it whatsoever). Easily accesible/legible instrument/controls display throughout the cabin. Excellent AC system, cools down the car immediately. Nifty cup holder design. Reasonable gas mileage (I average 21mpg in the city with mine). Very spacious seating for a mid-size sedan, especially in the back. Cons: Ancient 4 speed automatic transimission, when some other competitors were going with the 5 speed. As a result the downshifts are slow and the tranny kicks under hard acceleration. It also steals the engine's potenital and lowers mpg. Not a ride you would expect from a luxury sedan. I've been told that my car has a rough ride by numerous passengers, and I have the stock 16" inch rims. Wind noise is pronounced, especially during highway speeds. The leather seating is a nuisance in hot weather since its not ventilated. Somewhat bland exterior styling. The sunroof is not tinted so when the shade is open you have the sun blazing at the occupants. Also, from the outside, all the dust and dirt on top of the sunroof shade is visible since the sunroof itself is not tinted. There are absolutely no steering wheel audio controls, which is unheard of in a luxury car, making the driver reach for them. From I know these are the pros and cons from my point of view. My overall say is that this car is very reliable, comfortable and just plain nice. There are drawbacks, as with any car, but if you can get around them you're in for a thorough enjoyment.

A: does it do it while driving, parked, after the amp warms up, can you see the light on the amp when it does this, as is the light going out on the amp when the sub cuts out, do u hear a thump or crackling, does it do it at all volumes.? after this checklist u can start from the sub checking wiring then the amp, bang on it if it cuts out over bumps etc. the conditions when it happens is the best diognostic trouble shooting tool. give more info. good luck

When I turn on the air conditioning in the car, it will put out very cold air (awesome). However, if I turn it up to the 80s and above, it shows the air flow going to the bottom (which means its going to blow hot air to heat up the car), but it still blows out freezing cold air. It will only blow HOT air when the climate control is set to 90 degrees. Any ideas?

A: well when its cold outside it will heat up. Its your climate control unit that will take care of that hot an cold stuff. As of right now your climate control is reading that its hot an cold air need to blow out.when it is cold it will blow all the hot air u want.

Q: Ok, so I'm looking at buying a 2001 Infiniti I30. Here's the deal?
It has 115k miles, not too terribly bad for an Infiniti. It's priced at $7800, very cheap for this car. The problem is, the car needs $800 worth of work, a new catallytic (sp?) converter and air intake something or another. Not a problem. HOWEVER!! The dealer is asking me to split the cost of the repair with them. I told them no way and walked away from the deal. Have you ever heard of a dealer asking you to split the cost of the repair BEFORE you even purchase the car??

A: Very expensive anyway, you did good. Never heard about splitting the cost of a repair from a dealer, they usually sell the car as is.

A: Remember the I-30 is actually a Maxima and is not quite as luxurious as the Q-45 with the V-8 engine. You would be well served to purchase a Maxima GLE will all options. Besides check the Dealership Labor rates? Generally Nissan charges less per hour.

A: actually, it's a very good deal. GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!! make sure u get the buyer's history of the car's usage... and where it is kept and where is it often run on.. highway or city roads.. and how often is it maintained or checked up... A: If it is paint you'll need to take it to a body shop; it won't wash off and any chemicals you use could damage the paint on the car (that's supposed to be there) and it's not worth the risk. :-)

A: the lexus is more reliable, but it comes standard with a purse. Find an Acura! Just as relaible, and alot more fun, and everyone's mother doesnt have one.
