Q: How can I disable my alarm on a 2001 Infiniti g20
For the past couple weeks my alarm goes off for no reason. Now my car wont start, or even turnover. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it. Then I tried to jump it. All this was to no avail. I figured that the alarm system may have disabled my car. Everything works, windows, air, radio, lights, just wont even turn over. Pleas help!

does anyone know where there is a place to run wires through the firewall of a 2001 infiniti G20
A: ive found that most cars have a pre-drilled hole in the firewall, usually it's somewhere above your pedals around the steering column, somewhere in that area, and there will be a wire running through already, all you do is feed it through
Q: My car will not start!?
I have a 2001 Infiniti G20- I went to start yesterday and it would not start- all the dash lights worked and headlights were bright- it just did not turn over - their was no sound- a friend of mine said to try to tap on the alternator- i did and it started- i turned it off and would not start again- a tried it again and tapped the alternator and it started- Would it be my alternator that is bad or could it be something else???
A: The alternator rarely has anything to do with your starting system.
The alternator is only generating electricity when it's actually being spun by the engine.
It's more likely to be the starter motor itself. Tapping on the alternator probably somehow transmitted the vibrations to the starter motor.
Q: 2001 BMW 740iL (Are they good?)?
I am very intrested in purchasing a used BMW 740iL equipped with the sport package. I am absolutely in love with this vehicle. It is very sporty yet luxurious at the same time. The only thing holding me back from purchasing one is....Well im not to sure if this would be a smart buy? I've heard many negative things about the 740iL. Aparently the reliability of this particular vehicle is below average! This is very sad for me because I do not know what to do? I have never owned a BMW just infiniti's. I have had excellent expierences with the G20, J30t, I30t, Q45t, and finally the M45. But I am tired of purchasing Japanese made vehicles and want to purchase a BMW. Can anyone who has owned a BMW tell me whether theyre expierence with a BMW was negative or positive and PLEASE let me let me know if you know of anything wrong with a 740iL. If there are I was also considering an Audi S8, MBZ S55 AMG, and the Jaguar XJR.
A: Last April's issue of Consumer Reports reported on the reliability of the '01 BMW 7 Series (not specifically the 740iL), based on a survey of owners. It appears to be the least reliable of all the BMW series. In fact, they include the entire line of 7-Series from '97 to '06 in their "Vehicles to Avoid" list.
Specifically, the worst problems were with the engine cooling system, minor engine, electrical, climate system, suspension, paint/trim, body integrity/hardware, power equipment, and audio system. The only area that got a good rating was the exhaust system. Overall, it's rated as "much worse than average."
